Just found this tribe while trying to find a decent place to buy fire wands.
The name grabbed my attention and so here I am.
I've been burning for a couple months now. Though only in the last few weeks since I made my contact staff has it been regularly. (Once a week.)
My first time was going to be with poi, but I was not doing so well unlit, then someone handed me a staff, I pulled a few moves from back when I was in high-school drill team and three people said at once, "Step away from the poi, you're burning that."
So I did, was great, even though all I could manage to do was spin the staff once it was lit.
Since then I have made my own and am working on contact staff, fire eating and last week I started breathing.
The breathing is what brought me into the scene in the first place, I had practiced the form with water, but refused to even touch fuel until I knew someone that did fire breathing that was willing to supervise and advise, I am quite glad that my patience has finally paid off.
I'm located in Portland, OR, so if anyone knows of burns other than the Sunday burns under the bridge, let me know. Maybe I'll get lucky and it'll be on a day off.
