What do I do with these?

This is me on the left and my friend Carrie on the right. Clearly she uses the fans often in her belly dance troupe and this was the first time I'd even held fire fans... which is very obvious. :-)

Play with the fans when they are not lit. A common mistake with fire + bellydance is that the dancer will have beautiful movements but the fans are sort of just hanging out there, not moving. You really need to learn to dance with the fans. As in, they are your dance partner, not a prop.
